Elisa will release Yunto, the next generation home security service, at the DigiExpo exhibition. The service will be available for sale on 1 December 2008. At the DigiExpo event, consumers can become familiar with the new Yunto home security service.

The home security service which has been developed together with Finnish consumers utilises mobile phones and the Internet in a completely new way. Yunto tells you what is happening in your home or summer cottage when you are not there. With Yunto, users can be in contact with their home or summer cottage in real time through the Internet. System alarms will be sent as SMS or MMS messages. The user can access his/her Yunto website through the message link and see what is happening in the target location. The Yunto website has a connection to a camera located in the target.

Through the Yunto website, users can also check the type of alarm and the true situation, and perform the required action. For holidays, users can forward alarms to a number of parties, such as family members, relatives, friends, neighbours or security companies.

Yunto helps you monitor your summer cottage's temperature and moisture and, using a camera, control the situation during autumn storms or winter blizzards.

Yunto is an easy-to-use home security service. All you need is a broadband subscription for using the service. The service includes a camera, motion and door sensors, indoor sirens, the service interface, a thermometer and a moisture guard.

"At the beginning of 2009, the availability of Yunto will expand significantly as it can also be operated using mobile broadband. In Elisa's 3G network, the service will soon cover the whole of Finland. A number of features requested by users are continuously being added to the service. These include outdoor cameras and on/off switches for electricity," says Sanna Korppoo, who is responsible for the Yunto business operations at Elisa.

"We have developed the service together with consumers. Finnish people require a home security service that they can control independent of time and place. Easy monitoring of the living environment increases peace of mind and reduces unnecessary check-up visits to the summer cottage," says Korppoo.

The Yunto home security service is on display at the Helsinki DigiExpo in section 5d38.
