2018 Camp Twin Lakes Radiothon Success

Blog

On July 25th, 2018, with the help of 680 The Fan, Ackerman Security and passionate listeners, the Camp Twin Lake Radiothon raised $115,000! This game-changing camp has delivered medically supportive and fully adaptive experiences to more than 10,000 Georgia youths for over 25 years. The camp encourages confidence and teaches independence through intentional play so the attendees can triumph over the various challenges they face.

The amazing amount of financial support from this year will fund camper scholarships for 209 kids! The dynamic organization subsidizes 70% of the camper's scholarship programs so that %72 percent of families can attend the camp at no cost to them. Ackerman proudly participated in the donation to and volunteering of the radiothon because of the amazing work that Camp Twin Lakes does. Krystal L. with Ackerman stated, "I had no idea about the impact the camp was making in our community. They have over 60 camps to assist with all kinds of hardships including those with disabilities, those with incarcerated guardians and even camps for siblings in different foster cares to reconnect! The work they do is too important not to get involved!"

The radiothon had dozens of volunteers answering the phones and organizing the event which lasted 4 hours. The fundraiser offered various gifts for bids and options for donations. Some of the amazing gifts included:

25 Pairs of Braves tickets, Autographed sports items, Golf getaway packages, Wine cruises, Live nation concerts and much more!

Merrick B., the Development Manager of Camp Twin Lakes, stated "We are blown away by the support from Ackerman and our community! Thank you for enabling us to provide transformative camp experiences for these kids, who otherwise would not have an opportunity to attend camp or meet children facing similar challenges."

"We will definitely be involved again next year and plan to be even more supportive in the years to come," stated Nick T., Director of Marketing for Ackerman Security Systems.
